A little about me. .
Hi, I am Poulami, a UX Designer-Researcher and Content Designer based in the Netherlands. From studying Psychology to working in content design, my life has taken me on intriguing paths.

My education has given me a strong foundation in cognitive sciences and research. My professional experience has taught me to deeply empathise with users, and experiment with various media to design content that tells a story.

Now, I am bringing them all together to imagine and build human-centred digital experiences that users will love.
Outside of my love for design, human behaviour and problem-solving, I consider myself to be an artist of sorts. I draw and sketch stuff that inspires me: frogs, plants, clouds, etc. etc. I like to hike & cook. A forever wildlife nerd. Avid reader of science fiction, comics, geopolitics and wildlife.

My Design Process

1.
Understand
I unravel the problem and get to know the requirements of the project. I define my research design based on my understanding of the problem space. I might have hunches, but I prefer to go into the problem with an open-mind to avoid any biases.
Research
I use a variety of research methodologies: qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods. I also like to hang out at internet forums to glean user information. I like to be creative with how and from where I gather information from, depending on the project’s requirements.
2.
3.
Prioritise & De-clutter
I analyse my research results, finding patterns, and pain points. Transforming these insights into numbers or graphs helps with getting a better picture of the problem. I prioritise the values that the users desire depending on the research results and the project’s requirements.
Ideate
I translate these values into digital requirements. The key is to get as many ideas out there as possible, without limits and self-criticisms. I prefer to do this phase with the whole team, involving brainstorming sessions or discussions on individual rapid prototyping sessions.

5.
Prototype & Intentional design
A fruitful ideation phase leads to prototyping. I dig into my roots in Psychology to shape my designs. The fidelity depends on the project’s requirements. The prototypes are tested to validate their measures and identify weak points.
Iterate
I go back to the ideation and prototyping phase depending on the results of testing. Rigorous iteration is an ongoing process and at the heart of all good design processes.
